10/4/2011 - “LE TIGRE” LOCKS UP J/80 NORTH AMERICAN TITLE
Congratulations to the J/80 “Le Tigre” team who dominated the 2011 North American Championship last week!  The team of Glenn Darden (helm), Karl Anderson (trim), Ullman Sails’ Max Skelley (tactics) and Reese Hillard (bow) earned their title with excellent teamwork and strong, consistent finishes throughout the 11-race series.
9/28/2011 - ULLMAN SAILS POWER BIG WINS AT J-FEST
At last weekend’s 2011 J-Fest in San Diego, Ullman Sails customers scored the top three spots in the highly competitive J/105 class!  Bennett Greenwald and his team on “Perseverance” marked their return to the fleet with speed, sealing the regatta win in the final race!  Steve Howell’s “Blink!” finished second overall, winning the first day on the racecourse, followed by Dennis Case on “Wings” who sealed the third place position with 21 total points and two bullets out of the 5-race series!  All three boats competed with 100% Ullman Sails.
9/27/2011 - SPORT BOATS EARN A PODIUM SWEEP + PCC TITLE
Sport boats converged on San Diego’s South Bay last weekend for the 2011 Fall Sport Boat Regatta where Ullman Sails customers claimed the Flying Tiger 10 Pacific Coast Championships and a full sweep of the Viper 640 podium!  Congratulations to Paul and Julie McPherson and their crew on the FT 10 “Niuhi” – they took charge early on Saturday and collected three straight bullets to open the event.
9/19/2011 - JIM SMINCHAK’S J/105 “IT” NAMED CLEVELAND’S BOAT OF THE YEAR
In the Cleveland Sailing Association’s 2011 Boat of the Year Championships series, Ullman Sails customers racked up the top four spots led by Jim Sminchak’s J/105 “It” who was named CSA 2011 Boat of the Year!  Jim and his team took first place overall in the 14-race series, in addition to first in class in division B.
9/15/2011 - GARY TISDALE CLAIMS ANOTHER BENETEAU FIRST 36.7 NAs
PHOTO CREDIT: Greg Nicoll Congratulations to Ullman Sails customer Gary Tisdale and his team on “First Today” who claimed another Beneteau First 36.7 North American title!  This is the second year in a row for the “First Today” team, who won this year’s title in the final race of the series against Richard Reid’s “Zingara”.
9/12/2011 - “OLD SCHOOL” DEFENDS OLSON 30 NORTH AMERICAN TITLE!
PHOTO CREDIT: Kurt Stahle Ullman Sails customer Scot Mundle successfully defended his 2010 Olson 30 North American title earlier this month, winning a closely contested event by only one point!  Scot and his team on “Old School” earned the 2011 NA title in the final day of racing with two bullets, edging out John Osborn on “Wreaking Havoc” for the championship win.
9/6/2011 - ULLMAN SAILS POWER NORWEGIAN M24 TITLE
At last weekend’s Melges 24 Norwegian Open 2011, Norwegian Christoffer Sundby and his crew on “Oslo Flaggfabrikk” dominated the 2011 national title with a race to spare!  The team finished with six bullets in the nine-race series, proving their speed and tactical edge on the racecourse.
8/29/2011 - PODIUM SWEEP AT MARTIN 242 NORTH AMERICANS
Ullman Sails customers dominated the hard-fought battle for the 2011 Martin 242 North American Championships last weekend in Santa Monica Bay, sweeping the top three spots in the 22-boat fleet!  Congratulations to Mike George (skipper), Mike Pentecost, Ken Dair, and Jennifer Arrington on “All In” who secured the title with a bullet in the final race.
8/22/2011 - J’OUVERT SCORES AIRLIE BEACH WIN
Australian catamaran sailor Peter Berry is on a roll.  He started the winter racing season off with an overall win in the three-race XXX Series hosted by Whitsunday Sailing Club.  Then he sealed a regatta win at the 2011 Airlie Beach Race Week in the Multihull Division! Fully powered by Ullman Sails, Peter and his crew on Pescott Whitehaven 11.
8/21/2011 - RACING SWEDEN’S TJÖRN RUNT
One of the major highlights of Swedish sailboat racing is the Tjörn Runt, which takes place off the West coast of Sweden on the third Saturday in August.  The Tjörn Runt or “Around Tjörn” hosted 420 boats this year, despite big waves and breeze that picked up to 30 knots.
8/20/2011 - R BOAT “ACE” SPARKLES IN SEATTLE
Earlier this month, Bob Cadranell had the pleasure of re-launching his R Boat “Ace” on Seattle’s Lake Union.  “Ace” hadn’t been in the water for decades and Bob had just completed two years of serious work to rebuild the boat.
8/15/2011 - GIRLS CAUGHT SPEEDING AT UK OPTI NATIONALS
Congratulations to British Optimist sailors Sally Lorimer and Ellen Main who recently completed a stellar week of racing at the 50th Volvo Gill Optimist Nationals in North Wales, finishing 2nd and 5th  respectively in the 86-boat Regatta Racing fleet!  In a series of 13 races, including a passage race, both girls scored a bullet and several top five finishes, consistently challenging for the top spot.
8/2/2011 - TOP FINISHES FOR ULLMAN SAILS AT SB-KH 2011
Southern California keelboats lined up in Santa Barbara last Friday for the final stage of the Ullman Sails Offshore Series – the annual Santa Barbara to King Harbor Race 2011!  The fleet enjoyed consistent breeze and Ullman Sails customers secured several podium finishes, including three class wins!  Dave Baker and his team on the Schock 34PC “Lulu” won PHRF Class “C” fully powered by Ullman Sails.
8/1/2011 - “WINGS” FLIES AWAY WITH J/105 SOCAL TITLE
Congratulations to Dennis and Sharon Case and their crew on “Wings” who claimed the J/105 Southern California Championships last weekend in San Diego!  Powered by 100% Ullman Sails inventory, “Wings” secured the 2011 title with a total of 15 points in five races, including a first place in the opening race.
7/26/2011 - A CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE ON THE WAY TO THE FARR 30 WORLDS
Last weekend, Ullman Sails customer Bill Markel and his team on Farr 30 “Standard Deviation” not only sealed the Youngstown Level Regatta win, but also claimed the 2011 Great Lakes Championships in the process! Fully powered by Ullman Sails inventory, “Standard Deviation” finished on top of the podium with two bullets in a total of six races.
7/25/2011 - ULLMAN SAILS WIN BIG AT YOUNGSTOWN LEVEL REGATTA
Ullman Sails customers dominated last weekend at the Youngstown Level Regatta on Lake Ontario, winning convincingly in several classes, including the highly competitive Beneteau 36.7 fleet where Ullman Sails swept five of the top six spots in the 22-boat fleet!  Congratulations to Gary Tisdale’s “First Today” who took first place and won two of the six total races with 100% Ullman Sails inventory.
7/22/2011 - ULLMAN SAILS POWER UP ANOTHER TRANSPAC FLEET
There were plenty of Ullman Sails customers scattered across the Pacific Ocean for this year’s 2011 Transpac.  Even better were the number of customers who earned themselves podium positions, not to mention first in class honors!  Check out the report below by Keith Magnussen of Ullman Sails Newport Beach who made his first crossing on the Ullman-powered First 40 “NAOS2” (2nd in class!).
6/28/2011 - SOLID SCORECARD AT LONG BEACH RACE WEEK
Ullman Sails customers proved their prowess on the racecourse last weekend, collecting hardware in several one design and PHRF classes at the 2011 Ullman Sails Long Beach Race Week!  In a lighter-than-usual regatta, competitors saw two days of light air sailing including a very shifty, light breeze race on Sunday morning.
5/31/2011 - “LOCOMOTION” SWEEPS THE 2011 AROUND CATALINA RACE
Congratulations to Ed Feo and his crew on Andrews 45 “Locomotion” who took advantage of the big breeze this past weekend in Southern California to sweep the 2011 Cabrillo Beach-Dana Point YC “Around Catalina” Race with a first to finish, first in class and first overall corrected!  Fully powered by Ullman Sails, “Locomotion” finished the 75nm “Around Catalina” race in just over 9 hours.
5/9/2011 - FT10 “LIKATIGER” GOES BIG IN 2011 BRISBANE TO GLADSTONE
In the recent 2011 Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race along Australia’s coastline, David Turton and his crew on Flying Tiger 10 “Likatiger” proved their offshore racing prowess on their way to finishing first in their PHRF division and fifth overall in PHRF.
5/5/2011 - AUSTRALIAN “HOT VINDALOO” SEALS DIVISION IN BAY TO BAY 2011
Congratulations to owner Julian Griffiths and his team on “Hot Vindaloo” – a Pescott Firefly 8.5 Grand Prix catamaran – who claimed top division honors last weekend in the 31st Bay to Bay Race 2011 in Queensland, Australia.
5/3/2011 - PERFECT CONDITIONS FOR YACHTING CUP 2011
This past weekend hosted probably the best conditions of any Yachting Cup in history.  The 70-80 degree temperatures with clear blue skies and 15-20 knots of wind both days made for incredible racing.
4/25/2011 - REED'S “ELANDRA” TAKES FIRST IN CLASS AT ROLEX REGATTA
Showing speed and consistency on the race course, Calvin Reed and his crew on Beneteau 40.7 “Elandra of Hamble” were crowned first in class at the 2011 International Rolex Regatta, hosted by St.
4/25/2011 - MELGES 24s WINNING ACROSS THE COUNTRY
In the Pacific Northwest, Brad and Traci Bradley won the PHRF division of the ten-race Nanaimo Yacht Club Spring Series off Vancouver Island. Unlike other locales where the Melges is sailed, racing in the cold weather of the Northwest can have its own unique challenges - the crew often used their Ullman Sails for speed on the race course and then for speed to get to the warmth of the yacht club faster! Brad and Traci Bradley recently took ownership of USA 539 from Kristen and Peter Lane.
4/25/2011 - “FIDELIS II” SWEEPS CRUISING CLASS AT BVI SPRING REGATTA
Ullman Sails customer Steve Montagnet and crew proved themselves in the British Virgin Islands earlier this month – not only with their impeccable choice of regattas, but also on the water where they won their division in all three events of the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival!  Racing Steve’s Beneteau Oceanis 440 “Fidelis II,” the team won the cruising class in the Bitter End Cup and Nanny Cay Cup – both distance races.

4/11/2011 - ULLMAN OFFSHORE SERIES #2 - BORDER RUN RESULTS!
The 2011 Ullman Sails Offshore Series in full swing after completion of the second race: The Border Run.  In its second year of existence, the Ullman Offshore Series grew by one event when Randy Reynolds of XSRacing.
4/5/2011 - ULLMAN SAILS POWER WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
Congratulations to the “Across the Oceans with Energy Diet” team who recently finished the 3rd stage of their circumnavigation!! The team has attempted to set an official record with the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest unbroken sailing journey on a collapsible trimaran.
4/5/2011 - CORINTHIAN M24 “VALKYRIE” REIGNS IN SAN DIEGO
Ullman Sails customer Andy Rasdal and crew on Melges 24 “Valkyrie” claimed first overall as a Corinthian team last week at San Diego YC’s Melges Race Week!  The local team mastered the racecourse and 13-boat fleet sailing in San Diego’s South Bay.
4/3/2011 - CUSTOMERS COLLECT THE HARDWARE AT GERRY BROWNE
The 21st Annual Gerry Browne regatta hosted by Cortez Racing Association was held last Saturday, April 2, in San Diego Bay.  Starting in lighter winds and ending in 18 knots, the 48-boat fleet sailed a total of two races.
3/25/2011 - ULLMAN SAILS CUSTOMERS SWEEP UP IN MEXICO
Congratulations to Jack Taylor’s Santa Cruz 50 “Horizon” who claimed top honors last week in the 2011 Newport Harbor YC Cabo Race.  After his clean sweep of last year’s Pacific Cup, Taylor won this race in similar fashion by claiming first in class and first overall! Ed Feo’s Andrews 45 “Locomotion” was the first boat in the fleet to cross the finish line in Cabo San Lucas and corrected to 4th in class behind “Horizon”.
3/21/2011 - CUSTOMERS CLAIM SEVEN CLASSES AT SAN DIEGO NOOD
In a mixed bag of conditions with little or too much wind, Ullman Sails customers were on deck for anything and won seven of the one design classes at the 2011 Sperry Top-Sider San Diego NOOD, March 18-20, 2011.
3/17/2011 - A TASTE OF THE ULLMAN SAILS OFFSHORE SERIES
The first of four races is complete and in the books for the 2011 Ullman Sails Offshore Series.  50 boats competed in the NHYC/SDYC Islands Race in early March, kicking off the season for offshore sailing in Southern California.
3/15/2011 - FIELD’S MELGES 24 “WTF” POWERS THROUGH IN MIAMI
Congratulations to Alan Field’s team “WTF” who took second place in the highly competitive Melges 24 fleet last week at Bacardi Miami Sailing Week.  Powered by 100% Ullman Sails, the crew held their focus and intensity through the seven-race series, culminating with a win in the final race.
3/11/2011 - J/80 “LE TIGRE” CLINCHES TWO EVENTS SO FAR
Ullman Sails customers Glenn Darden and Reese Hillard have kicked off their 2011 season in good form.  Sailing on their J/80 “Le Tigre” with tactician Max Skelley (of Ullman Skelley Sails) and trimmer Karl Andersen, the team captured the J/80 Midwinter Championships at Key West Race Week in January.
3/8/2011 - ULLMAN OFFSHORE SERIES #1: THE ISLANDS RACE IS IN THE BOOKS
In Southern California, the offshore season kicked off this month with the second annual NHYC/SDYC Islands Race, March 4-5.  The Islands Race is also the first event in the Ullman Offshore Series.
2/4/2011 - THE SEMINAR SERIES STARTS OFF WITH A BANG
The new seminar Unlocking the Racecourse kicked off its inaugural tour earlier this week with huge success!  Despite four days of crazy travel, our panelists were on their game and gave a great presentation in all four cities.
2/3/2011 - U/S MADISON DEBUTS AT THE CHICAGO BOAT SHOW
The new U/S Madison team joined the Ullman Sails International group just last week and they already got their feet wet (or cold judging by the weather in Chicago…)!  Loft owner Ryan Malmgren headed the booth at Chicago Strictly Sail 2011 with his team of Carrie Carpenter and Andy Marin from the production loft in Madison, WI.
1/15/2011 - NANUQ FINISHES 2ND IN QUICK RIDE TO KEY WEST
Congratulations to Ullman Sails customer Glenn Doncaster and his crew who took 2nd Overall in the PHRF Division A of the Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race, January 12-14.  Glenn’s Sabre 426 “NANUQ,” is based out of Fishing Bay Yacht Club in Deltaville, Virginia.
